Very slow in starting up the program

I am using the latest EE released in November, 2013. The program starts very slow, approximately 1 minute before I can do anything with the software. I cannot blame my computer, it is powerful (i7 CPU and 12 GB memory)

Not sure what is the issue, I can start the program in light speed with EE version 6. Is it because EE7.1 adds 3D functionality and requires more time for initializing?

There may be an issue with the current release that causes a slow startup when the computer is connected to a local network. Please try temporarily disconnecting and let us know if it helps. We will correct this in the next release of EE7.1.

Thanks, it does start up quickly by disconnecting my local network connection.
