Solar radiation

How does EFDC generate the solar radiation? Is there any documents that provide the equations? It seems that only inputs are long and lat of the area, but I’m not sure how to do it manually.

Hi,

Would you go ahead and look at CALHEAT.f90 and try to find the subroutine SHORT_WAVE_RADIATION ? There you will see all the equations used to calculate the solar radiation. I will try to find out the equations in paper. The method used here is based on CE-QUAL-W2 version 3.1.
