Salinity calibration

I am using EFDC 10.2. I want to calibrate my model for salinity. From the documentation, I can understand that the horizontal kinematic eddy viscosity and diffusivity as possible calibration parameters for salinity. Is there any other calibration parameter for salinity, as I do not see any parameter in the Salinity Module? Thanks,Adithya

Hello Adithya,You should also consider the bottom roughness parameter in your calibration, as well as the AHD (Smagorinsky coefficient).Boundary conditions, model grid, number and method of vertical layering are also important factors for the simulation of density dynamics.Since salinity only really affects the dynamics of the water body due to density gradients it’s model parameters are just the hydrodynamic model parameters.Let me know if you have any more questions.Thank you,Tom
