Precipitation and evaporation consideration in mass balance

Hi, all,
I have a confusion.
Since the precipitation and evaporation are included in the aser.inp file, which is in the temperature module, will the precipitation and evaporation be considered in the water balance calculation if the temperature is not simulated (for example, shallow lakes)?

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Hi currently, the EFDC model doesn’t consider the rainfall and evaporation in the mass balance calculations when the temperature module is not activated. It wouldn’t make much sense to consider evaporation without temperature activation because the river temperature plays a big part on evaporation.

However, in the new 7.3 release, EFDC will consider the rainfall in the mass balance calculations even if temperature is not activated and aser.inp file is created.
