How to keep the total wind weight of multiple wind stations to be 1 for each cell

Hi, all

I’m confused about how to keep the total wind weight of multiple wind stations (e.g. 2 stations) to be 1 for each cell of the modeling domain. For each wind station, its weight is ranging from 1 (its location) to 0 (another wind station location). But for the total wind weight, the area between the two stations is less than 1. Is it the location of the stations that controlling the total wind weight?

Any help will be appreciated.

Best wishes!

Hi Bin,

When you have more than two wind stations, you can provide the coordinates of the wind stations by clicking on “Show Params” in the Data Series: Winds window.

If you are using EE 7.2, then the wind station parameters window would look like this:

Now, after you have finished specifying the coordinates for the wind series, you can go to “Hydrodynamics” >> Wind Data >> Series Weighting.
The Series Weighting would look like following:

There are three ways where you could specify the weighting of the wind series. First one is using constant for each wind series. Second one would be using the XYZ data and the third one would be “Automatic based on Station Coordinates”. In your case, I think the third option was selected. If you have the real coordinates of the wind stations then using the third option would be best.

However, you can specify the series weighting using one of the three options shown in figure above.

Hope it helps.
