Flow Input Explanation

Hello,

I was wondering, when I put in a time series flow that changes over time. If I put in daily data (for instance day 1 = 0.5 m/s and day 2 = 1 m/s), does the program use 0.5 m/s for the entire day 1, or is it interpolated between day 1 and day 2. So, the flow data rises between hour 0 of day 1 from 0.5 until it reaches 1 m/s at day 2.

Thank you very much for your question.

EFDC+ operates as follows:

When you input the inflow time series as in your example (day 1 = 0.5 m3/s, day 2 = 1.0 m3/s) and you specify the output interval as 1 day, EFDC+ will use 0.5 m3/s for day 1 and 1.0 m3/s for day 2 in the calculation process.

However, if you want to use a shorter output interval, such as 1 hour, EFDC+ will interpolate between 0.5 and 1.0 m3/s for each hour during the calculation process.

If you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to let me know. Feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Thank you for the response!
