Factors controlling Recirculation in Intake Canal


I want to know the factors that control the recirculation in the intake canal. I am doing a simulation on the river which has intake canal and discharge canal. It seems in my canal there is a little recirculation. I want to know what parameters are responsible for controlling the recirculation. My intake canal temperature is higher than observed by 3-4 degrees. Would somebody give any advise on changing any parameters so that the temperature lowers down ?


Generally speaking the controlling factors will be the horizontal and vertical resolution of the grid and the model bathymetry. It sounds like your model needs some improvement in the configuration of these factors.
