Estimated Run time

I faced problem during estimated run time. When I run the model, it shows almost 600hrs (five month simulation). It almost same when I run only 10days. I used salinity module. I used salinity fixed value 35ppt for ocean and I found zero salinity in the output. . My question is, how I will decrease the run time? and how long it will take to get salinity in the river water?
