I got your EE6 the web version for demonstration work. I am not sure if it is intended limitation of it or not but it always complains " Bad restart: water depth <0 at 6" when i use restart option. I did animation and did not found any negative depth. I tried to use small time step and did not work that also. I run the model without any problem when i use the executable file compiled at our office.

All the issues with restart has been fixed in our latest version of the code. Hot start, warm start, continuation runs all work without any problem. I would encourage you to give a try on the latest version of EFDC Explorer8 and EFDC+.
